【Animal Modeling】-What is the quail gout model?

Purpose: Preliminarily study how to induce quail gout by simulating clinical high-protein and high-calcium diet, establish a quail gout model, study and prevent the etiology of gout, and provide evidence for drug screening?

Method: 36 healthy males of 30-day-old German quail were selected and randomly divided into three groups according to body weight and blood uric acid level: control group, model I group, and model II group. The quail control group was fed basic feed, and the model group was fed high protein and high protein. Calcium diet (diet crude protein content 29.5? Calcium content 7.8?, control group? Model I group has free drinking water, model II group restricts drinking water for 4 hours a day, does the experiment last for 50 days? Simultaneous detection of quail serum, urine and uric acid levels Kidney function and observation of histopathological sections?

Result: A high-protein and high-calcium diet can significantly increase the blood uric acid level of quail; significantly reduce the uric acid level; increase the serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels; severely lead to quail kidney uric acid deposition? Will the combination of a high-protein and high-calcium diet and restricted drinking water aggravate the increase in blood uric acid? Will uric acid deposits in the kidney cause joint swelling and deformity in some quails and other symptoms of gout?

Conclusion: High-protein, high-calcium diet and restricted water intake can establish a gout quail model. Is it more in line with the clinical etiology, pathogenesis and clinical manifestations of gout, and provides a reference for the basic and drug research and development of gout?
