【Animal modeling - Pharmacodynamic evaluation】 - Surgical induced pulmonary heart disease model

  1. Animal modeling materials: dogs or rabbits; Medication: Anesthetics.

  2. Method of modeling: The dog underwent thoracotomy under general anesthesia, and the descending branch of the aorta was anastomosed with the left pulmonary artery. The anastomotic site was less than 1cm, and simple pulmonary hypertension was caused by the pressure of the aorta. Alternatively, the trachea of the rabbit can be separated under local anesthesia, and a plastic iron wire can be used to reduce the original circumference of the trachea by 1/3 below the cricoid cartilage, and the wound can be sutured.

  3. Principle of modeling: Surgery causes pulmonary heart disease in animals.

  4. Changes after modeling: Dogs can observe right ventricular hypertrophy and enlargement after modeling, leading to heart failure. After more than 100 days, the model can be 100% established. High pitched wheezing sounds can be heard in the trachea of rabbits after surgery, and a model can be established within 100 days.
