【Animal modeling - Drug efficacy evaluation】 - Cryotherapy combined with resection method induced chronic renal failure rat model

  1. Modeling material animals: Male rats weighing 200-300g; Medication: pentobarbital, liquid nitrogen.

  2. Modeling method: Anesthetize animals with 30mg/kg pentobarbital, disinfect the skin routinely, make an incision on the left side of the abdomen, expose the left side, and peel off the renal fascia. Freeze the upper, lower, lateral anterior, and posterior parts of the animal's left kidney using a cold knife pre immersed in a liquid nitrogen bottle for 40 seconds each time, then reposition the kidney and end the surgery. Remove the right kidney one week later.

  3. The modeling principle is to establish a CRF model using frozen surgery and nephrectomy.

  4. Changes after modeling: Blood creatinine and urea nitrogen began to increase progressively 2 weeks after surgery, reaching their peak at 4-6 weeks and fluctuating around the peak values. Stable chronic renal failure lesions appear between 6 and 12 weeks.
