　　According to the bilateral cooperation agreement between the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Council of Brazilian State Funding Institutions (CONFAP), in order to promote the development of technological innovation in the Amazon region and support cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and Brazilian researchers, the two sides plan to jointly hold an academic seminar in the Amazon region of Brazil in April 2025. NSFC will fund researchers interested in related fields to attend and conduct field scientific investigations, laying the foundation for establishing bilateral and multilateral cooperation and conducting substantive collaborative research in the future.

　　1、 Project Description

　　（1） Project type.

　　The type of this project is to participate in bilateral (multilateral) academic conferences abroad.

　　（2） Funding fields and application codes.

　　Please refer to the attachment for a detailed description of the funding areas. Please select the code that matches your own situation from the application codes listed in parentheses based on the funding field and research direction as application code 1.

　　（3） Funding scale.

　　The funding scale for this overseas conference project is around 25.

　　（4） Funding intensity.

　　The funding intensity shall not exceed 35000 yuan per item, including passport and visa processing fees required for attending conferences abroad, international travel expenses (economy class), accommodation and local transportation expenses, etc.

　　（5） Declaration requirements.

　　The seminar is scheduled to be held in the Amazon region of Brazil in April 2025, with the specific time and location to be determined. Please fill in the cooperation start and end dates in the application form from April 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025.

　　2. This project only supports the applicant's participation in the conference. The applicant should explain in the application the close correlation between their academic background and the funding field, as well as their ability to engage in international exchange and cooperation.

　　2、 Application requirements

　　According to the Management Measures for International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, applying for this project must meet the following conditions:

　　（1） The applicant should be the project leader of a 3-year or more National Natural Science Foundation research project (excluding cooperative exchange projects) that is completed after December 31, 2025 (inclusive).

　　（2） For a detailed explanation of the applicant's requirements, please refer to the "2024 National Natural Science Foundation Project Guide".

　　3、 Regulations on Restricted Application

　　（1） This project belongs to an international (regional) cooperation and exchange project, and is not included in the total number of projects applied for and undertaken.

　　（2） Not subject to the restriction of "applicants can only apply for one project of the same type in the same year".

　　（3） As an applicant, I am limited to one international (regional) cooperation and exchange project under the same organizational agreement framework that I am currently undertaking as the project leader.

　　（4） Other restrictions on the number of applications in the "2024 National Natural Science Foundation Project Guidelines".

　　4、 Application precautions

　　（1） Attention for applicants.

　　Before filling out the application form, the applicant should carefully read the relevant content of this project guide and the "2024 National Natural Science Foundation Project Guide". Project applications that do not comply with the project guide and relevant requirements will not be accepted.

　　2. Applicants must log in to the GRANTS Science Foundation Network Information System（ http://grants.nsfc.gov.cn/ ）According to the outline and relevant requirements, write the "Application for International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Application"). The specific steps are:

　　(1) Select the "Project Leader" user group to log in to the system, then click "Online Application" to enter the application interface; Click the "Add Project Application" button to enter the selection interface for the Science Department to which the project belongs; Click on 'Apply for General Science Department Projects' to enter the project category selection interface.

　　(2) Click on the+sign on the left or the "Expand" button on the right of "International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Projects" to expand the drop-down menu.

　　(3) Click the "Fill in Application" button on the right side of "Going abroad to participate in bilateral (multilateral) academic conferences (inter organizational agreement projects)" to enter the "Cooperation Agreement" selection interface;

　　(4) Select "NSFC-CONCAP" from the drop-down menu, and then enter the approval number of the project supported by the ongoing research fund according to the system requirements. After passing the qualification certification, you will enter the specific application form filling interface.

　　3. Budget preparation requirements. Applicants should carefully read the budget preparation requirements in the "2024 National Natural Science Foundation Project Guidelines" application instructions, strictly follow the requirements of the "National Natural Science Foundation Funded Project Fund Management Measures (Caijiao [2021] No. 177)" and the "National Natural Science Foundation Project Fund Budget Table Preparation Instructions", and truthfully prepare the "National Natural Science Foundation Project Fund Budget Table".

　　4. Requirements for application materials. After the applicant completes the writing of the application form, they can submit the electronic version of the application form and its attachments online, without the need to submit a paper application form. After the project is approved, the paper signature and stamp pages of the application shall be bound at the end of the "Funding Project Plan" and submitted together. The information signed and stamped should be consistent with the electronic application form.

　　（2） Precautions for relying on the unit.

　　The supporting unit shall review the authenticity, completeness, and compliance of the application materials submitted by the applicant of the unit, as well as the target relevance, policy consistency, and economic rationality of the budget application. This project is included in the scope of paperless application. Regarding the submission of the research integrity commitment letter and project list of the unit, please refer to the Notice on the Application and Conclusion of National Natural Science Foundation Projects in 2024.

　　（3） Project application acceptance.

　　The online application acceptance period for GRANTS Science Foundation Network Information System is from December 2, 2024 to 16:00 on December 30, 2024 Beijing time.

　　Note: Applicants are required to strictly follow the requirements of this project guide when filling out the application. The science management department of the supporting unit is reminded to confirm and submit the electronic version of the application before closing the online application in the Science Foundation Network Information System.
