On December 25, 2024, the Interdisciplinary Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China held a mid-term inspection meeting for the Basic Science Center project in Beijing. Academician Wu Lizhu, Deputy Director of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Fu Xuefeng, Deputy Director of the Interdisciplinary Science Department, presided over the opening ceremony of the conference.
Vice Director Wu Lizhu pointed out in her speech that the Basic Science Center project aims to target the forefront of international science, rely on high-level academic leaders, promote deep interdisciplinary integration, seize the high ground of global scientific development, and create an academic highland with international influence. The project for this mid-term inspection is the first batch of basic science center projects funded by the Interdisciplinary Science Department since its establishment. We hope that the project team can lead the development of related disciplines both domestically and internationally while achieving the originally planned goals. I hope the attending experts can fully utilize their professional wisdom, strictly monitor the progress of the project, and provide valuable opinions and suggestions.
The review expert group carefully listened to the reports of project leaders and key team members, and after questioning, discussion, and evaluation voting, formed mid-term inspection opinions and provided feedback to each project team, completing the mid-term inspection task of the Basic Science Center project for this year.
Staff members from the Interdisciplinary Science Department of the National Natural Science Foundation of China attended the meeting.
