  On April 6, 2025, the annual exchange meeting of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Excellent Research Group Project (formerly the Basic Science Center Project) "Female Reproductive Aging and Fertility Reshaping" was held at Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University. Academician Jin Li, President of Fudan University, Professor Yuan Zhenghong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Fudan University, Academician Ge Junbo, Dean of the Biomedical Research Institute of Fudan University, Academician Xu Guoliang, Executive Dean of the Biomedical Research Institute of Fudan University, and others attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

  The Excellent Research Group Project (formerly the Basic Science Center Project) was approved in 2022 and is jointly undertaken by Peking University, Xiamen University, and Fudan University. The project is aimed at the major strategic needs of national population health, focusing on the core scientific issue of "female reproductive aging mechanism and fertility reshaping strategy". It conducts interdisciplinary basic and clinical full chain research around the development and aging of oocytes and embryos, stable microenvironment of embryo implantation, and fertility reshaping. It will promote the transformation process from basic research findings to clinical applications, explore and develop new strategies for reshaping female fertility, and thus build a personalized and accurate diagnosis and treatment system for female reproductive aging related diseases.

  Academician Jin Li, President of Fudan University, pointed out at the exchange meeting that promoting healthy reproduction and improving the quality of newborns is one of the important strategic goals of "Healthy China 2030". This conference focuses on "female reproductive aging and fertility reshaping", which has significant and far-reaching implications for the long-term development of the reproductive field, as well as for the practical significance of national and social development.

  The project leader and project backbone respectively reported on the progress of work in 2024 and the next stage of work plan, and exchanged and discussed with the expert group. The expert group fully affirmed the progress and achievements made since the implementation of the project, and put forward constructive opinions on the project progress, research ideas and content, introduction of cutting-edge technologies, and clinical translation applications.

  Project team members, 12 expert group members, and relevant staff from Fudan University attended the meeting.
