  On behalf of the Alliance, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Ye Yuru, published the "Global Openness and Cooperation Initiative for Life Sciences", calling on the life science community around the world to fully respond to UNESCO's open science recommendations, adhere to the openness, cooperation, exchange and coordination of global life science research and innovation, and jointly promote human health and well-being.

  The Initiative proposes that the Life Science Open Alliance will focus on promoting international cooperation in four aspects in its future operations:

  First, cooperate to cultivate talents, jointly explore outstanding talents who can protect and promote human future health needs, and strengthen global exchanges between students and scholars in the field of life sciences;

  The second is to collaborate on key issues and innovation, focus on the ultimate scientific issues and cutting-edge areas in the field of life and health, continue to strengthen global scientific research cooperation and collaborative innovation, and strengthen the transnational innovation network of life sciences;

  The third is open and sharing of resources, and jointly promote the compliance, openness and global sharing of scientific research literature resources, scientific research facility resources, scientific research data resources and biological sample resources;

  Fourth, multi-modal promotion of transformation, guided by human health needs, join hands with the global scientific and industrial community to break the barriers of bankruptcy teaching and research, and jointly promote the accelerated transformation of research results, so that more public can enjoy the results and dividends of cutting-edge research in life sciences as soon as possible.

  The Life Science Open Alliance will rely on Fudan University to establish a secretariat to coordinate the operation of the alliance; rely on the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to set up a Hong Kong representative office to give full play to the advantages of convenient international exchanges in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; the alliance will have several special committees to create a series of high-quality public products that can be easily shared by the global life science community.
