　　Today (21st), the results of the 2025 additional election of academicians of the two houses of Congress were officially announced, with a total of 144 people elected. Among them, a total of 73 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 71 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering were elected. Among the newly elected academicians of the two academies, there are 13 female scientists. In addition, 27 new foreign academicians will be elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences and 24 new foreign academicians to the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2025.

　　After this co-election, the total number of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is 908, and the total number of foreign academicians is 173; the total number of academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering is 1,002, and the total number of foreign academicians is 148.
