　　From May 20 to 24, 2024, at the invitation of the Japanese Experimental Animal Society, the Chinese Experimental Animal Society organized a group of six domestic experts to Nagoya, Japan to attend the "72nd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Experimental Animal Society" and visited the Japanese Institute of Physiology for investigation and exchanges.This event has built an important bridge for promoting exchanges and cooperation between China and Japan's experimental zoology community.

　　This year's annual meeting is themed "Empowering the Future: From Basic Research to Clinical Applications", focusing on cutting-edge development in the field of experimental animal science and technology.The conference specially invited internationally renowned experts such as Dr. Kenji Osafune, Deputy Director of the Center for Research and Application of Induction of Pluripotent Stem Cells at Kyoto University, Director Makoto Suematsu, Central Institute of Experimental Medicine and Life Sciences, to give special speeches.The meeting set up 2 special speeches, 10 special seminars, 3 experimental animal science seminars and multiple academic reports, mainly covering topics such as innovative technology application, animal model development, non-human primate research, norms and ethics, as well as special technical seminars involving practical operation, such as adeno-associated virus (AAV), veterinary care, and animal behavioral assessment. In addition, there are new breakthroughs in model animals such as fruit flies in genetics and developmental biology, and other contents.The content of the conference reflects the full-chain innovation from basic research to clinical transformation, taking into account scientific research and ethical norms, and shows the multi-dimensional development of experimental animal disciplines.

　　The exhibition held at the same time focused on displaying the latest technologies and products such as experimental animal infrastructure, environmental control systems, experimental instruments, etc., fully demonstrating the deep integration of academic research and results transformation.

　　The delegation of the Chinese Experimental Animal Society was welcomed by Japanese colleagues such as Professor Junro Okura, Chairman of the Japanese Experimental Animal Society, and Dr. Shizuko Changtao of the Conference.

　　During the meeting, the Chinese Experimental Zoology Society actively carried out international exchanges.The delegation focused on introducing the "10th Asian Experimental Animal Society Federation Conference and the 18th China Experimental Animal Science and Technology Annual Conference" to be held in Hangzhou in October 2025, and introduced the preparation progress of the conference and the participation in China.Professor Qin Chuan, Chairman of the Asian Experimental Zoology Federation, sent a sincere invitation to international colleagues through video, which attracted widespread attention from experts at the meeting.

　　After the meeting, the delegation made a special visit to the Japanese Institute of Physiology and was warmly welcomed by Professor Kazutoshi Nishijima (Dr. Kazutoshi NISHIJIMA) team of the Center for Animal Resources and Collaborative Research.They introduced the center's work results in experimental animal breeding, facility management, and animal experimental research in detail, and accompanied the visit to advanced experimental animal facilities.The two sides had in-depth exchanges on issues such as technological innovation and management experience in experimental animal science.
